Mr.Charlie’s: Delicious Vegan Burgers in Los Angeles

If you're a vegan and you're craving McDonald's this is the place to go. The fries and tots were excellent the Mr Fluffy ice cream was great. And the hamburger tasted like a McDonald's burger as far as I can remember, although it's been many years since I've had a McDonald's hamburger. But I think this place will do it for those missing that classic fast food flavor.

There’s limited bar seating inside and some tables outside. It’s all worth it! It’s such a cool vibe inside and the food is amazing. Definitely a throw back to childhood eating McD’s. It’s so good we got 3 burgers to share for two people: the not a burger and not a cheeseburger, both deluxe, Mr. frowny meals. So they came with four chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. I got half lemonade and half water, the guy was very kind to accommodate! We also got the Mr. fluff for dessert. They held it until we finished eating our meal, so that it didn’t melt everywhere. We got it with the caramel on top! We loved everything about this. There are special deals each day of the week. Definitely worth looking at!

This place is beyond delicious! I love that I couldn’t have a healthy meal that taste just like other similar places which I won’t mention on here, but it is out of this world the only downfall to this place is that you have to watch the parking because I got a $400 ticket so be careful. Mr. Charlie’s is basically a vegan McDonald’s dupe and honestly, it nails it. The food is great and tastes shockingly close to the real thing, minus the cruelty, which is the whole point. The breakfast sausage sando is excellent, the burger hits all the nostalgic fast-food notes, and the chicken nuggets are legit addictive. Staff was kind of unfriendly, not gonna lie, but after a meal that good, who really cares? I’d absolutely come back. If you’re craving classic fast food without the guilt, you won’t be disappointed.

We absolutely loved this place. There was parking right out front and the atmosphere was super cute. We got the deluxe breakfast sandwich meals and the chicken nuggets. Everything was fantastic. We will definitely be back to try more items in the future.

Mr. Charlie’s is like McDonald’s but plant based and higher quality (and a little pricier). Fries and nuggets taste just like McDonald’s super close in texture and flavor. The “Not Chicken” sandwich is hefty and really good, honestly better than the mcchicken IMO! Burger was just okay (mainly the cheese didn’t hit), and the white sauce wasn’t great. Ice cream with caramel tasted a little freezer-burnt but still good with fries dipped in it. Overall, great spot if you want a better version of fast food.

Haven and a heaven for vegan folks/lovers. Amazing creation and invention, excellent taste excellent quality and excellent food products. The breakfast sandwiches taste better than a real egg breakfast sandwich. Amazing invention by the founder. Always serving fresh food. Supervisor Miguel is a rockstar, great attitude. Must try.

Ronald McDonald and the Hamburglar were nowhere in sight, but the golden arches’ influence was unmistakable …just without the animal products. I finally got the chance to check out Mr. Charlie’s, and it didn’t disappoint. The vibe was local and laid-back, the staff were friendly, and my order was cooked fresh and ready in a reasonable time. The food itself? Fantastic. The texture and flavor hit the mark, and the vegan patties were noticeably larger than their fast-food rival’s. The combo drinks went beyond the typical soda fountain options, which was a nice surprise. Now, for my one gripe ….the prices. Expect to pay about $6–7 more for a combo meal, $3 more for a single sandwich, $2 more for fries, and nearly $10 for seven nuggets … roughly the same price as a 20-piece at McDonald’s. Plus, the burgers use pre-made vegan patties. Still, I love the concept …a fun, compassionate twist for us non-meat eaters. The merch (like their clever T-shirts) adds to the charm. My only hesitation is the cost, which could make it tough for larger families. Otherwise, Mr. Charlie’s is serving up plant-based realness with fast-food nostalgia…minus the guilt.
